Poland shows its strength and military development to the West

Poland is fundamental to the security of Europe in this historical phase. Without its contribution, the eastern front of both NATO and the EU would be without a barrier safeguarding against possible expansionist threats of Russia and its surrogate, Belarus.

Warsaw has chosen to improve relations with Brussels, demonstrating a solid pro-European ideology despite the ideological, cultural, and political differences between the various forces that are part of the executive.

In addition, the country is strengthening its capacity in the defense sector, allocating more than 4% of GDP to military spending. The army will see an increase in units estimated at more than a doubling (from 150 thousand to more than 300 thousand members in a few years), while the manufacture of sophisticated armaments will be destined both for its renewal and for supply to allied countries or buyers on the market.

Both by chance and without voluntariness, Russian missiles and drones in almost three years of war in Ukraine have repeatedly violated the Polish border, risking causing an incident that would have foreshadowed the entry of the Atlantic alliance into the conflict.

Therefore, Warsaw has taken responsibility for increasing aid to Ukraine and repeatedly fears the possibility of taking part in the fighting by sending the regular army to the battlefield, in the event of an escalation as the war continues.

This is why Poland has chosen to catalog itself as a strategically fundamental player for the entire West, capable of playing a leading role in defending the security of the EU and NATO. The ambition is to become increasingly important in both institutions, in order to obtain delegations on the management of sensitive dossiers.
